It is a larger than average poppy -but not dinner plate size, the size of a tight fist. I LOVE that color blue also -you don't see it very often occurring naturally in many flowers. I had to squat down to shoot the picture. I'm not very good with my digital camera to do any tricks...yet :o)
I just noticed that the breeze has blown the petals off of that first bloom.
I was so busy making sure all my stuff in the studio is drying properly, I almost missed this photo, thanks so much. When I saw it I was thinking I need to make some small blue poppy bowls to go with the large one. I can't help myself. I need to get some yellow mason stain so I can make it more botanically correct - maybe some poppy salad plates or something. Thanks again.
